Full job description
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Heavy Plant & Fleet Mechanic to join our existing team here at The Sheridan Group
The role is a full time position and you will be reporting to the Site Manager on a daily basis.
- BASIC HOURS: 40 per calendar week + (Overtime Hours Optional)
- Salary – up to £20.00 per hour – depending upon experience

Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, inspections and repairs to all company equipment, plant and vehicles.
- Diagnose specific fault and act / repair as needed, ensuring that paperwork is completed.
- Escalate serious issues to management and discuss appropriate action
- Attend to site breakdowns and workshop repairs in a safe manner with good housekeeping being key
- Out of Hour Work may be required due to workload pressures on sites and breakdowns.
- We require an engineer who pays attention to detail and can carry out repairs in a timeous manner, safely.
Qualifications
A recognised industry qualification to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
Key Attributes
- Good Communication Skills
- Use of own initiative is a must
- Computer literate for basic diagnosis and reading of manuals
You must be able to demonstrate past experience in a similar role
